Treo 650 Programs

Rtalian wrote:Actually, I have a little clarification. When I reflash it and hold power while resetting, the 'Erase all data' screen is updated. When I perform a zero-out, after the 45sec of blank & then the first loading screen, the circular Palm logo screen takes longer than usual - 20-30sec.

Palm Treo 650 Battery

So, I don't know if any of that will help, but I wanted to add that to my description.Same here.I used the ENA ROM on a Treo that had the most recent Cingular ROM. I've tried flashing it with the Cingular ROM and the 1.21/1.71 APR ROM and neither of those work either.I know that the flashing worked-the Hard Reset screen had Chinese on it (which it does not for the other ROMs).Any ideas? Decided to come back and view you recent worksI dunno if you remember me (you can look up my previous posts)I killed my treo, and you told me that I messed up the phone's firmware. All the palm functions work. Will this procedure fix it?

Where do i get the files you are talking aboutace-palmos.zip???If this fix will help me please let me know.I dont think I have my original usb cable, But I have the modded cable for converting to verizon. Will that workWhat do i need? Thanks for your help.

Treo2die4 wrote:Hi Shadow - thanks for the response. The pushrom stops after the 'jump to virtual address' line listed in my previous post. When I hit enter at this point I get no response so at no time do I see the YModem send to ROM line. The original ROM I used was from this site - base ROM you put together from the 1.12 Sprint update. I've used it several times for custom ROMS. Put together an updated custom ROM today with updated software versions and did something wrong as I ended up withe the endless reset loop.BTW, I tried both ROM Restore tool 1 and 2, same result. One other thing I noticed - once the pushrom execution stops, the screen on the treo goes black and the file line seems like it hangs at the 'Jump to virtual address0XA100. It doesn't show the full a1000000?OK, Exactly what Techie post, is my problem.Problem is, I got this unit from eBay and I do not know where the ROM originated from.

Will this tool work with the new fat 32 in the ace file or do we need to use the 'old ' ace file (the one without the fat 32).i have tried to follow the instructions in the 650 restore file. This is what i have done.i have dwnld the 650 restore tool and unzipped it to the desktop. Inside are the following files. Directions.romsend load. Romupload load. Test usb file and test usb exec.

Plus treo-drivers zip. I have also added my unzipped ace file into that folder.i have tried to get this going both with unzipping the contents of the treo drivers zip into the same folder and without unzipping the treo drivers zip. It doesn't seem to make any difference. Results are the same in both cases.my treo is plugged into charger via hotsync cable and usb end into usb port of computer.there is no sd card in the treo. It is on the red, green, blue, white striped bootloader screen. The screen says bootload v 0.24.when i plug the usb connection from the treo into the comp (with the treo already at the bootloader screen).or when i.already have the treo connected to the comp and then do a ZOR to bring up the bootloader screenthe result seems to be the same.the found hardware wizard comes on and tries to connect to internet. I click cancel.

A balloon comes up near the start bar. It says that a problem occurred during new hardware installation and new hardware might not work properly. (damn is that right )i have double clicked the testusb exec file. According to the instructionsi am meant to see a console open up. What i see is a black console looking screen that seems to flash open for a microsecond. It does not remain open. Each time i press the enter key on the comp it very briefly flashes open.

It never 'stays' open so i am unable to follow the instructions further and type anything at all. Pressing enter or spacebar on the treo also doesn't seem to do anything.the palm hotsync app doesn't appear to be active.

It does not show in thelittle space at the bottom far right cnr of the comp (status bar area i think it's called).going to start settings control panel system hardware device mgr shows yellow question marks alongside 'other devices - usb device'.i can't think of anything else relevant to advice anyone who might happen to read this.could there be asetting on my comp that is preventing the console from opening? I use windows xp pro. Not sure that's very relevant.can anyone help?

Hello everyone, I am a newbie I will begin my nursing clinicals in Jan. We are required to purchase a pda, and also Tabers medical dictionary, Davis's drug guide, Diseases and disorders, and Davis handbook of laboratory diagnostic tests.

Does anyone know if I can download any of these programs for free.or at least not the full price? Also, instead of purchasing the palm tx that the school recomended I purchased the palm treo 650 so that I could replace my cell phone. I just received the phone 2 days ago but when I went to activate they want me to sign up for unlimited data.for an extra $50/ a month. Besides getting on the internet do you all actually use the internet when in the clinical setting? I do not get on the internet that often so I am wondering if it is worth me getting the package. Can I still access these programs that I have to purchase without having the internet on my phone?

Also, I am clueless when it comes to using the pda so just curious what do you guys use your pda for? Thanks in advance! Unfortunately if you're like my clinicals, they don't allow cell phones on the floor. Can you disable the cell phone feature on your PDA? If not you may not allowed to use it.I have not seen any place where you can get them for free but Skyscape is a good place to get your programs.

The come with the desktop version for free. I didn't think I would use it but I found the desktop versions useful for research and when writing my careplans. Don't buy from Unbound because you are only renting the desktop version for one year. The price for subsequent year is the same price you pay for the pubs minus 20%.I used my Tabers and Davis Drug guide all the time. Something will always come up that you don't know about and it's nice to just pull the PDA out of your pocket and look it up instead of going to the nurses station and look for book or a terminal that everybody else is waiting to use.
